4 Stroller Friendly Trails Near Buffalo, NY

4 Stroller Friendly Trails Near Buffalo, NY

When the baby arrives, the adventure does not have to stop! I loved to take my little one along with me everywhere; especially outdoors.  Often, baby wearing was the way to go, but sometimes it was a little ride in the jogger.  Nothing like some fresh air, greenspace and the chirping of the birds to develop your baby's mind and help them grow. All of the trails listed below are fairly flat and safe for little ones; no dramatic drop offs or tumbling boulders.  Here are four of our favorite (mostly) stroller friendly trails around Buffalo, NY.

1. Reinstein Woods Nature Preserve

Number one is Reinstein Woods Nature Preserve located in Cheektowaga, NY . We LOVE this place, especially if you have multiple children.  There is an outdoor nature area perfect building and playing.  Additionally, you can find an indoor nature center with a little library, a little outdoor library, benches along the way for breaks. By the entrance to the trails, you can find bathrooms and a water fountain; which is always convenient on any outdoor adventures for mom or dad. The trails are fairly flat, very lush and pass by several different ponds. Overall just an awesome place to hike with kiddos year round. Reinstein is not pet friendly, so you will have to leave your pup at home.

2. Knox Farm State Park

Knox Farms is a cute little place for a brief stroll.  The paved paths can easily accommodate any type of stroller. Along the paved trail there is an adorable little flower garden. Knox Farm is pet friendly. There is a large dog park that is always packed with pups.  Definitely check out their Pet Policy on their website if you intend to bring any four legged family members.  There are wooded trails that are hikable but are not as stroller friendly; definitely better for a baby wearing adventure.

3, Tifft Nature Preserve

Tifft is right in Buffalo, NY and SO incredibly lush right now!  We love going to Tifft for Tifft but also because Outdoor Harbor is right across the street. What's better than the water and woods all in one place! Many of the trails in Tifft are stroller friendly. They may be a little bumpy, so it would be best to have a jogger stroller.  There is quite a bit of wild life in Tifft but my favorite part are the canopied trails that you can see in the photo above. There is a indoor nature center with bathrooms and a water fountain, that is open during the day (definitely check current hours on their website if you will need to depend on these amenities). Tifft is not pet friendly, so just your two legged little family members shall venture along these trails.

4. Lancaster Heritage Trail

This trail is an asphalt rail trail through Lancaster, NY.  This flat trail is also a great biking trail if you'd like to tow your little ones in a bike trailer and have older siblings ride along with them!  There are several entrances into this trail where you can park, as well as a few entry points along the trail. We usually pop into the entrance on pavement road and will take a brisk walk on the green lined trails whenever we are passing by!

If you take a hike with one of your little ones in their KTJBaby Bandana Bib, be sure to tag us on Instagram! We love to see your little ones catching rays while we catch drool! Where's your favorite place to spend time outdoors with little ones in the Buffalo, NY area?
